A monograph of the Silurian fossils of the Girvan district in Ayrshire, with special reference to those contained in the 'Gray collection' The Lower Palaeozoic trilobites of Girvan, Part 2.   This is the first book to describe the development of and state of the art in solar shading devices in buildings, detailing all methods of evaluating shading systems according to thermal and visual comfort. Lower Palaeozoic Trilobites of the Girvan District, Ayrshire. Lower Palaeozoic Trilobites of the Girvan District, Ayrshire. A possible further record, of a similar age to the foregoing, is from the Albany Group, Doularg Formation of the Girvan district, Scotland. Tripp (, p. , pl. 81, figs 13–14), and Rushton et al. (, p. 29, fig. 5b) figured, respectively, an incomplete cranidium and librigena as Mesotaphraspis sp. and a pygidium as Scharyia? sp. Williams, A. The Barr and Lower Ardmillan Series (Caradoc) of the Girvan District, south-west Ayrshire, with descriptions of the Brachiopoda. Memoir of the Geological Society of London, 3, 1– Williams, A. The Caradocian brachiopod faunas of the Bala District, Merionethshire.

Girvan (Harper, in press). A re-examination of the Ballyvorgal brachiopod fauna suggests that the same relationship occurs in the County Clare succession. The Foliomena fauna of the Ballyvorgal Group Weir (, p) recorded the following brachiopods from the Ballyvorgal Group: Cyclospira sp. Christiania sp. Ptychopleurella sp. Chonetoidea sp. no evidence that starfishes could open enrolled trilobites, but trilobites and bivalves are scarce in brittle-star country in the lower part of the Pentlandian] [p. 86 difficult for starfish to insert stomach into some brachiopods Atrypa, Leptaena rhombordalis] [defense by small size -- too small to provide an adequate meal] Lane, N. Gary.   The Girvan species differs from C. vizcainoi in having a proportionally wider and higher median crest, the peripheral angulation positioned lower on the whorl side, flatter and convex umbilical walls with more convex lirae, a gentler curvature (abaperturally) of the median sinus, and in the overall larger maximum size observed.   Later in the Caradoc, and in the Ashgill, genera appear which previously were present at Girvan (in southern Scotland) on the other side of the Iapetus Ocean from the Lake District. By the end of the Ashgill nearly all brachiopod and trilobite species are common to both sides, showing that the ocean was now narrow enough for the pelagic spat to.
